VietNamNet Bridge – Serious landslides along the Lam River in the central province of Nghe An pose a major threat to the safety of more than 40 north-south trains that pass this section every day, particularly during storm and flood seasons.

Landslides have occurred at this section many times. In 2008, an embankment was built to prevent erosion but now this embankment is more than 10m from shore, beyond the water line.
