Nguyen Hue Flower Road 2014.

Nguyen Hue Flower Street has long been a trademark of the HCM City Year and  spring enjoyed by crowds of people, expatriates and tourists. This year, Nguyen Hue Street is being renovated and the flower street will be temporarily moved to Ham Nghi Street. The street theme will be The Smell of Flowers Lunar New Year 2015.

The flower street stretches 510m from Pho Duc Chinh to Ho Tung Mau.

The street will feature the landscape of Vietnamese countryside and the metro system, which is under construction in the city. The street will be decorated with three main segments: Engineering Hao Vietnam, Vietnamese identity and Glory Vietnam.

As usual, the Lunar New Year’s mascot (a goat this year) will be displayed along with flowers and other decorations featuring the beauty of the Vietnamese countryside.

A book fair will also be open in the section between Ho Tung Mau and Ton Duc Thang streets.

The Flower Street will be open from February 16 until February 22. Vehicles will not be allowed on the street during this period.

The HCM City-based state-run tourism company Saigontourist was the initiator and main sponsor of the Flower Street project.
