Ms. Lien Huong was born in 1973 in the northern province of Hung Yen. 

She was promoted to the new position from her previous role as Director General of the Health Environmental Management Agency under the Ministry of Health.

Following the new appointment, the Ministry of Health has four Deputy Ministers namely Nguyen Truong Son, Do Xuan Tuyen, Tran Van Thuan and Nguyen Thi Lien Huong.
