VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) will have its new General Director as of October 1, 2011, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi.
Under a decision of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Nguyen Duc Loi, who is VNA’s Deputy Director General cum Party Secretary will assume the Director General position as of October 1.

The current VNA’s General Director is Mr. Tran Mai Huong.

The new VNA’s chief – Nguyen Duc Loi, 51, was born in the central province of Quang Tri. Loi graduated from the Havana University in Cuba, specializing in Spanish literature.

Loi has been working at the VNA for nearly 30 years.

In May 2011, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung appointed Nguyen Dang Tien, Vice chief of the National Assembly Standing Committee’s Deputy Affairs Department, as General Director of the Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV).
