Police in Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) province of Kon Tum's Dak Glei District have arrested five suspects who allegedly threw stones at passenger buses on a national highway in Dak Glei District.

A Huan, 14, A Dung, 15, A Tung, 14, A Muoi, 16 and A Khe, 13, all lived in the district's Brong My Village.

The boys admitted to authorities that early Monday, after drinking alcohol, they dared each other to throw stones at passenger buses traveling on National Highway 14 in Dak Mon Commune.

They also said that two other boys in the village, A Hau and A Huy, both 15, threw stones at buses on May 27.

On Monday, transport companies from Dak Lak Province, including Ngoc Thong, Mai Thao and Nguyen Trai, and the Sao Vang Company from Binh Phuoc Province, reported that stones were thrown at their buses as they passed through the district at night, breaking glass doors and frightening passengers.

The police have since estimated the financial losses caused by the damage to the buses.
