Police have arrested two men in connection with the murder of a family of six in Binh Phuoc Province.

Nguyen Hai Duong and Vu Van Tien, both aged 24, were arrested at their homes in Binh Phuoc and HCM City late July 10.

Duong allegedly told police he had a love affair with Le Thi Anh Linh, 22, but she ended it after three years several months ago. Linh was killed with her parents, her 15-year-old brother and two cousins on July 7.

Police alleged Duong asked Tien to help him, promising they could then take money and valuables from the house.

A relative of the family, identified only as "B", said that Duong used to work for the family's Quoc Anh Co. He won the love of Linh and her parents due to his honesty, talent and good looking.

"It's hard to believe Duong could do that," B said. "He also came to express his condolences and help us prepare the funeral the following day."

Le Van My, 48, his 44-year-old wife, Nguyen Thi Anh Nga, their two children and two relatives were found dead inside their villa in Chon Thanh District, Binh Duong Province on July 7. Their throats were cut. My's 18-month-old daughter survived.
