On the afternoon of November 10, Bui Hoang Tung, 48, who holds French nationality, came to the Tan Thanh Ward Police Station seeking assistance in locating his family.

He explained that after relocating to France with his family in 2012, he had lost all contact with his aunt, Duong Nga, despite many efforts to find her.

Upon receiving the request, the Tan Thanh Police leadership immediately assigned Captain Nguyen Bao Trung, a neighborhood police officer, to verify and cross-check records for any individual named Duong Nga in the Trang Lon area of Phu My, formerly part of Chau Thanh District - details provided by Mr. Tung.

Through a search of the national population database, police identified Duong Thi My Nga, 62, who had a permanent residence in Tan Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. Her profile matched the information Mr. Tung had provided.

Later that same day, Captain Trung personally contacted and escorted Mr. Tung to Ms. Nga’s home. The emotional reunion between aunt and nephew - after more than 13 years apart - was filled with joy and recognition.

Mr. Tung later sent a letter of gratitude to the officers at Tan Thanh Police, especially Captain Nguyen Bao Trung, for their dedication in helping him find his family after so many years.
