Trieu Phong District police in the central province recently announced they would do criminal proceedings.

Six of 10 suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday, said colonel Nguyen Ngoc Minh, head of Trieu Phong District’s Police. Police have not revealed how many would be charged.

The attack occurred last Sunday evening in Trieu Phong District.

Police said that a group of nine students and one young man were involved in the case and were summoned the next day.

According to her family’s report to the police, at about 4pm on Sunday, she asked her parents for permission to go to her friend’s birthday party in the district. At around 9.30pm, her family found her unconscious on the ground with many scratches and bruises on her body, and then took her to Trieu Phong General Hospital.

At the hospital, doctors found she exhibited signs of psychological trauma and sexual abuse.
