On December 13, 2024, at the Central Party Headquarters, the Politburo reviewed and imposed disciplinary actions on party members for violations and shortcomings.
After considering the recommendations of the Central Inspection Commission, the Politburo determined that Nguyen Xuan Phuc, during his tenure as a Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Affairs Committee, and Prime Minister, violated Party and State regulations in the execution of his duties and responsibilities, particularly in the areas of anti-corruption and combating misconduct. He breached Party rules regarding prohibited activities for members, as well as ethical conduct requirements, causing serious consequences, negative public opinion, and damage to the reputation of the Party and State.
Similarly, Truong Thi Mai, in her role as a Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Party’s Mass Mobilization Commission, was found to have violated Party and State regulations in carrying out her duties. She breached rules on controlling power in personnel matters, violated ethical codes for Party members, and failed to uphold exemplary conduct. Her actions caused significant harm and negatively impacted the Party and State's standing.
Truong Hoa Binh, while serving as a Politburo Member, Deputy Secretary of the Party Affairs Committee, and Standing Deputy Prime Minister, was deemed negligent in leadership and direction. He violated Party and State rules in performing his assigned tasks, especially in the areas of anti-corruption and misconduct prevention. His breaches of Party ethics and standards caused serious consequences, public dissatisfaction, and damage to the Party’s and State’s credibility.
Considering the nature, severity, consequences, and underlying causes of the violations, and following Party regulations on disciplinary measures, the Politburo decided to: Issue a formal warning to Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Truong Hoa Binh; Issue a reprimand to Truong Thi Mai.
The Politburo has urged relevant authorities to promptly and comprehensively implement administrative disciplinary measures in alignment with the Party's decisions.
