The meeting looked into the project reviewing the five-year implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 45 -NQ/TW dated January 24, 2019 on Hai Phong’s development by 2030 with a vision towards 2045, and another on the establishment of centrally-run Hue city.
The top leader ordered the continued implementation of the resolution, which, he said, should go in tandem with the materialisation of another Politburo resolution, dated on November 23, 2022, on socio-economic development, and national defence and security in the Red River Delta region by 2030 with a vision towards 2045, in order to raise public awareness of Hai Phong’s important role and position in the region and the country at large.
He also described this as the responsibility of the whole political system, especially the municipal Party organisation, authorities, and residents, and stressed the need to issue special mechanisms and policies that match the city’s situation, particularly those on investment management, finance, state budget, planning, natural resources and environment, science-technology, innovation, apparatus organisation, the income of officials and public servants, and the establishment of a free trade area.
He urged speeding up economic structuring in parallel with growth model reform; promoting digital economy, green economy and circular economy; boosting the development of economic and industrial zones; and building concerted socio-economic infrastructure, among other tasks.
For the Hue city project, the Politburo agreed to submit it to the 10th session of the Party Central Committee for feedback collection.
Lam stressed that the formation of centrally-run Hue city holds political significance as it would create momentum for Thua Thien-Hue province to grow further.
He asked competent agencies to quickly work out a plan with specific tasks and solutions to complete standards set for a first-tier city, as well as timeframe for the work./.VNA
