The Politburo, the Secretariat, and high-level leaders have directed professional units and mobilised leading medical professors, physicians and medical experts to prioritise intensive care for the Party leader.

Given the need for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to continue focusing on intensive treatment, and to ensure the smooth operation of the Central Party Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, the Politburo has temporarily assigned President To Lam to oversee the work of the Central Party Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat according to the responsibilities and authorities defined by the Politburo.

The Politburo calls on the entire Party, the people, and the armed forces to have absolute confidence in the leadership of the Party and the administration of the State. They are encouraged to strengthen solidarity, unity, and collective effort, to continue building on the comprehensive achievements the country has gained, strive to overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully achieve the goals set forth by the 13th National Party Congress, maintain political stability, firmly protect independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security, ensure social order and safety, promote socio-economic development, and enhance the spiritual and material well-being of the people.

The Politburo on Thursday also issued a decision to award the Gold Star Order to Party General Secretary Trong.

The order is the highest decoration of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, given to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

The decoration has been officially approved by President To Lam.
