Not only have they been exposing some skin on stage, pop singers in Vietnam have also been making steamy video clips, appealing to the audience’s appreciation of music by eyes rather than by ears.
Whoever watches Thu Minh’s music clip “Giac quan thu sau” (The Sixth Sense) in her latest album would undoubtedly notice the nude scenes in the ending.
In a series of transformations, first as a blonde sorcerer, then a black-haired fairy, Thu Minh finally ended up in the image of a bare-naked mortal woman, according to the singer’s description.
The song is about a girl’s intuition of love but there is hardly any connection between the lyrics and images in the clip. Actually there is no reason for the girl to strip off under the rain in the end.
After watching it, many people commented that the nude scenes had nothing to do with the song.
“Most of the directors making these music videos are young and they want to make something out of the ordinary. Nudity and erotic can easily get everyone’s attention so they just exploit it!” said experienced director Dinh Anh Dung.
It has become a trend that female singers wear transparent, see-through shirts to show off their figures and body curves in their video clips.
Whatever mood the girls are in, waiting for love, dreaming of love or being broken-hearted, they are all shot in the same image: wearing only a knee-length T-shirt, going around the house, watering trees or laying in bed.
Young singer Minh Hang wears only a white T-shirt dancing in a recent video clip. All the buttons but one are unpinned and her top becomes transparent under the rain.
Male singers like Trieu Hoang, Ngo Kien Huy, Duy Manh also compete in adding the heat to their video clips by inviting beautiful models or even their wives to appear in their clips!
