VietNamNet Bridge – Online digital channel for children POPS Kids under POPS Worldwide will start airing U.S.-based Boomerang TV channel’s animated series and dubbed in Vietnamese language in line with a cooperation agreement between POPS Worldwide and Turner.

The agreement took effect on March 31, a representative of Turner, which is the owner of Boomerang, told a news briefing in HCMC on the same day.

The series to be dubbed in Vietnamese on POPS Kids include Tom & Jerry, Duck Dodgers, Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10 and Dexter’s Laboratory.

Phil Nelson, managing director in Southeast Asia Pacific for Turner International Asia Pacific Limited, said the cooperation agreement with POPS Worldwide is Boomerang’s new step for expansion in the region.

Esther Nguyen, chief executive officer of POPS Worldwide, said the cooperation deal is to build a leading digital entertainment network in Southeast Asia and POPS Worldwide will step by step translate, dub and promote productions of Boomerang.

Apart from dubbing the films into Vietnamese, POPS Worldwide will air suitable productions for Vietnamese audiences.

The series Powepuff Girls will start a program of POPS Kids channel to dub foreign films in Vietnamese. Local artist Thanh Loc will voice a character in the film.
