Nguyen Thanh Hien, director of Tomcare Biotechnology Co., Ltd in Binh Chanh District, said the company is preparing to ship its first batch of Chilica-branded chili sauce to Europe on March 11.
“After nearly a year of negotiations, European partners have agreed to order a large quantity of chili sauce worth US$34,000 from Tomacare,” said Hien. “The March 11 export shipment is set to create greater momentum for the firm’s expansion into the demanding market, along with other foreign markets in the near future.”
Meanwhile, Luong Viet Chuong, director of Dat Phu Co., Ltd., a firm that specialises in processing lotus products, shared that the enterprise has started to expand its growing area and would be assisting farmers in delivering their products to foreign markets.
"It is noteworthy that several lotus products have now been introduced to the United States by overseas Vietnamese, subsequently receiving positive feedback from consumers," said Chuong. "The firm hopes to bring Vietnamese lotus to different markets around the world in the future."
Many other businesses specializing in farm produce for export are also gradually recovering from the COVID-19 impact. Loc Troi Agricultural Products JSC, a member of Loc Troi Group JSC, has shipped over 4,500 tonnes of specialty rice worth over US$3 million to selective markets such as Italy, France, Canada, Hong Kong (China), Singapore, and the Philippines since the beginning of the year.
“Our products are under close scrutiny from cultivation to processing, to meet importers’ quality standards,” said a representative of Loc Troi.
Not only farm producers but also businesses of other economic sectors are increasing production capacity to fulfil orders.
Le Thi My Chau, director of VNF Company that outsources garments for export, said the firm is completing a shipment of two containers of garment products to the US this March.
“All workers have returned to production lines, and we have also received full orders until the end of this year,” the executive happily revealed.
Sharing this perspective, a representative from Viet Thang Jean Co., Ltd said the enterprise is seeking to expand production to meet orders until the end of the second quarter.
“If we maintain the momentum, our production is expected to grow by 15% year on year in 2022,” said the executive.
To meet export orders, most big businesses at Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park have recruited employees to keep production running after the nine-day lunar New Year holiday ended in early February.
According to Dang Cong Binh, director of DLG Ansen Electronics Co., Ltd., the company has paid special attention to employees' well-being to retain labour for production after the New Year break. Thanks to its efforts in maintaining production last year, partners in the US and Europe have continued placing new orders worth approximately US$6 million.
“If the outbreak is brought under control as seen at present, our exports will surpass the target set for this year,” said Binh.
Most enterprises at industrial parks and hi-tech zones in Ho Chi Minh City have resumed operating at over 95% of their design capacity. They all expect the COVID-19 outbreak will soon be contained and their production will pick up and return to pre-pandemic levels.
