VietNamNet Bridge – A stamp set depicting portraits of the late revolutionary and historian Tran Van Giau was issued on Tuesday to celebrate his 100th birthday.

Honouring the occasion, the Committee for the Tran Van Giau Prize announced that this year's prize went to a southwest revolutionary epic, Lich Su Tay Nam Bo Khang Chien (The History of Southwest Viet Nam's Resistance War).
The work was published last year by the National Politics Publishing House.
Giau, born on September 6, 1911 in southern province of Long An, was former secretary of the Viet Nam Communist Party's Nam Ky (South Viet Nam) region and chairman of the South Viet Nam's Resistance Committee.
He is the author of many scholarly and philosophical works about Viet Nam, as well as the teacher of many leading researchers and historians in Viet Nam.
In 2002, Giau and his family instituted the prize to encourage and honour research on Vietnamese history and culture.
Professor Giau received many noble awards and titles, including the Ho Chi Minh Order, Independence Order First-class, Labour Hero, People's Teacher, and Ho Chi Minh Award.

An eclectic mix of works by 24 Thai and Vietnamese artists are on display in Hue.
Dau An Cuoc Song (Make Your Signs-Create Your Life) features 51 printmaking installation, mix technique, and mix media works comprising images, objects, and people that send messages about life.
Some graphic installation works by Thai artists from Mahasarakham University have left an especially strong impression on viewers.
The exhibition has been organised as part of the Hue Arts College's 1st Hue Printmaking Workshop in co-operation with the Thua Thien-Hue Fine Arts Association and New Space Arts Foundation.
The workshop, which began late last month, has included seminars and creative camps on graphic arts.
The exhibition, on at 15 Le Loi Street, will run until September 17.
