On the afternoon of November 28, at the Presidential Palace, Vietnamese President Luong Cuong presided over the official welcoming ceremony for Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and his high-ranking delegation on their state visit to Vietnam.

At precisely 2 p.m., the motorcade carrying King Norodom Sihamoni entered the Presidential Palace grounds.

Amid celebratory music, President Luong Cuong greeted the King with a warm handshake. Hanoi children presented flowers to the King and waved to the Cambodian delegation, symbolizing the heartfelt welcome from Vietnam.

The President then invited King Sihamoni to the honor platform. The national anthems of both countries were played, followed by the leaders saluting the Vietnamese national flag.

President Luong Cuong invited the King to inspect the Honor Guard of the Vietnam People's Army. The two leaders then greeted members of both delegations attending the ceremony. The event concluded with the leaders returning to the honor platform to witness a military parade by the Honor Guard.

Following the ceremony, the President and the King proceeded to hold formal talks.

Earlier, King Norodom Sihamoni and the Cambodian delegation laid wreaths at the Monument of Heroes and Martyrs and paid their respects at the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh.

During his visit, King Sihamoni is also scheduled to meet with General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man. In Hanoi, the King and his delegation will participate in several other important activities.

This marks the King’s fourth visit to Vietnam since ascending the throne on October 29, 2004. He previously visited in 2006, 2012, and 2018.

The 57-year Vietnam-Cambodia relationship continues to strengthen through high-level exchanges and extensive cooperation across various sectors. Both nations collaborate actively in regional and international forums, enhancing their mutual support and partnership.

During meetings, King Sihamoni and Cambodian leaders have consistently emphasized Vietnam’s role as a close, trusted neighbor and important friend of the Cambodian people. Vietnam’s leaders, in turn, prioritize fostering traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia.
