VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam is ready to expand cooperation with the Czech Republic in various fields including national defence, said State President Truong Tan Sang at a reception for the Czech Defence Minister Alexander Vondra in Hanoi on March 27.

Minister Vondra spoke highly of the development of the relationship between the two countries and said he hopes that Vietnam will act as an open door through which the Czech Republic can expand its relations with other Asian nations.

The Czech Republic is willing to create the best possible conditions for Vietnamese businesses to invest in the country, aiming to increase two-way trade and help Vietnam penetrate the European market, Mr Vondra said.

President Sang said both nations should promote the exchange of high-level visits and bilateral cooperation in trade and education, adding that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on future national defence cooperation that was signed between their defence ministries will contribute to strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

President Sang also sent an invitation to his Czech counterpart, via Minister Vondra, to visit Vietnam at his convenience.
