During his visit, President To Lam paid respects at the National Monument and reviewed the arrangements for the funeral services.

The burial site for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is situated to the right of the National Monument, behind the graves of late General Secretaries Le Duan and Le Kha Phieu, and near the resting place of Professor-Doctor Nguyen Dinh Tu.

On the morning of July 24, President To Lam and the delegation arrived to inspect the preparations at Mai Dich Cemetery.

Accompanying President To Lam in the inspection delegation were Chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of National Defense Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Nguyen Van Nghia, To An Xo - Assistant to the President, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen, and leaders of various agencies.

President To Lam, accompanied by a delegation, checked the crucial preparations for the funeral, memorial services, and burial, scheduled for July 25 and 26.

The Funeral Committee, led by President To Lam, consists of 35 members, including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Standing member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee Luong Cuong, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, Head of the Central Organization Commission Le Minh Hung, and representatives from various ministries and agencies.

The Funeral Organization Committee, comprising 27 members and headed by Standing member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee Luong Cuong, includes Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai and Central Party Office Chief Nguyen Duy Ngoc as deputy heads.
