President Truong Tan Sang recently concluded successfully his official visit to Cuba. This visit contributed to bolstering the fraternal solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, countries and peoples. 

The visit took place in the context when Cuba is undergoing positive development in both internal and external aspects so it drew much attention from the international community.

During their talks, the two countries’ leaders agreed to continue improving the efficiency of  underway and upcoming joint agricultural and aquaculture projects; facilitating business market access; and carrying out projects in oil and gas production,  tourism infrastructure construction, building materials, consumer goods, telecom soft ware  and device production .

They also agreed to consider establishing mechanisms for joint research and a pilot production of medicines and new-generation bio-healthcare products along with promoting cultural, sport, tourism, education and training partnerships.

Multilaterally, the leaders declared that the two countries will continually boost collaboration, cooperation and support at international organisations and multilateral forums while joining together in the common struggle for peace, stability and cooperation within the two continents and around the globe. They affirmed their support for dealing with sovereignty disputes through peaceful measures and with respect for international law.

On the occasion, President of the Council of Prime Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro presented the Jose Marti Order – Cuba’s highest distinction to Heads of State, Government leaders and famous foreign people  - to State President Truong Tan Sang in recognition of his contributions to peace and humanity.
