President Truong Tan Sang has emphasized Vietnam’s determination to realise the target of not being dependent on any country at a meeting with HCM City’s Fatherland Front Committee and voters in HCM City on June 26.
HCM City’s National Assembly (NA) delegation led by President Sang briefed voters on the agenda and outcomes of the 7th session of the 13th NA, noting that the session took place in the context that the country faced difficulties especially due to the impact of the East Sea situation.
“At this session, the legislative body spent most of the time on the law-making process with a focus on examining, revising, supplementing and promulgating legal documents, and passed 11 laws, two resolutions and gave opinions on 16 draft laws." Sang said.
The Q&A session’s democracy, openness helped to resolve pressing issues of voter concern. In addition, the NA decided many other important issues on socio-economic development, State budget and the East Sea situation.” Sang said.
At the meeting, municipal voters spoke highly of the role and responsibilities of the HCM City NA delegation for this session, saying that NA deputies contributed many heart-felt opinions to draft laws closely related to people's lives.
In addition, municipal voters also expressed concern about a number of issues on educational reform, economic and, social affairs, State budget as well as defence and security and weaknesses in law enforcement.
About the East Sea issue, municipal voters showed their absolute confidence in the correct leadership and sound policies of the Government and the NA and proposed solutions for the protection of national sovereignty.
President Sang again affirmed Vietnam's stance on its foreign policy with international friends, including China. Vietnam always loves peace and friendship and is ready to be friends with all countries in the world on the basis of mutual respect and equal cooperation for mutual benefit.
The same day, President Sang also had a meeting with voters in HCM City’s District 1.
