VietNamNet Bridge – President Truong Tan Sang yesterday, Aug 25, affirmed that Viet Nam would create favourable conditions for ambassadors to fulfil their tasks while receiving newly appointed ambassadors from China, Laos, Mexico, Turkey and Switzerland.

Talking with Chinese Ambassador Kong Xuanyou, Sang stressed that Viet Nam always attached great importance to the strategic comprehensive co-operation and partnership with China.

With traditional neighbourliness and friendship, relations between the two countries had been enhanced and strengthened, he said.

The Chinese diplomat said he wished to contribute to promoting relations between the two countries, enhancing mutual understanding and trust and developing comprehensive co-operation in many fields during his term in office.

At the meeting with Lao Ambassador Somphone Sichalenne, Sang congratulated Laos on its recent socio-economic achievements and affirmed that the Party and State of Viet Nam would create good conditions to support Laos in all fields.

Sichalenne said he wished the long-standing traditional relations between the Parties and people of Viet Nam and Laos would serve as a basic to strengthen and enhance fields of co-operation between the two countries.

He committed to strive to fulfil his tasks and make contributions to help strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

Talking with Mexican Ambassador Gilberto Limon Enriquez, the State leader hoped that the ambassador would help to promote ties between the two countries during his new term in office. He said he believed that co-operation between the two countries would further develop based on their available potential.

In reply, Enriquez said Mexico always wished to promote diplomatic relations with Viet Nam in all fields. Mexico wanted to host a dialogue between the Vietnamese and Mexican Presidents on the sidelines of this year's Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation meeting.

At the meeting with Turkish Ambassador Ahmet Akif Oktay, Sang expressed his delight at the development of ties between the two countries, particularly the opening of a direct flight to Viet Nam by Turkish Airlines.

He said on the basis of the current fine relations between the two countries, Turkey and Viet Nam would increase their trade relations and negotiate investment protection and double taxation avoidance agreements.

For his part, Oktay affirmed that the two countries had recorded remarkable achievements in economic co-operation, but more opportunities needed to be exchanged and discussed in potential fields such as culture and history.

He conveyed the Turkish President's invitation to receive President Sang in the near future.

Receiving Swiss Ambassador Andrej Motyl, Sang affirmed that Viet Nam always appreciated Switzerland for its role as an important partner. With its strengths in industry, finance and commerce, Switzerland would help Viet Nam improve its capability to intergrate.

In reply, Motyl said he believed that Switzerland and Viet Nam would co-operate successfully and support each other in various fields based on their potential.
