VietNamNet Bridge - This morning, at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, the organizers of the 9th National Patriotic Emulation Congress held the opening ceremony of the Press Centre serving the Congress.

Attending the opening ceremony were the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, Head of the Government Office Nguyen Van Nen and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan stressed that the 9th National Patriotic Emulation Congress is an important event in the social life of people throughout the country. It will gather, praise and honor the outstanding individuals and organizations in the patriotic emulation movements in the period of 2011-2015.

With the theme "Unity, creation, construction emulation and national protection," the congress will review the implementation of goals and missions on patriotic emulation movements and honoured excellent examples in these movements in the 2011-2015 period.

According to Deputy Minister Truong Minh Tuan, the patriotic emulation movements in recent years have not only made great contributions to promote the completion of the country's social-politic mission, and make changes to the face of the country but also to foster the spirit of unity, and patriotism,  and build ethics and a new lifestyle to enhance human qualities.

Deputy Minister Tuan said that the upcoming National Patriotic Emulation Congress is a very good opportunity to praise and honor outstanding examples in the patriotic emulation movement, while also affirming the unshakable determination of the Party and the people, regardless of ethnicity, religion, and social background, to promote a comprehensive renewal process, following the revolutionary path chosen by President Ho Chi Minh, the Party and the people.

This is also a chance to affirm the achievements of 30 years of comprehensive reform of the country, promoting the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroism and arousing the tremendous strength of all classes, patriotism, undauntedness, and national pride in the construction and defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
