Many fires have occurred recently, causing deaths and great damage to facilities, worrying Vietnamese families who have begun buying IoT-based fire and explosion prevention devices.

One of the products, with smart features, has been introduced by Vconnex – Bluetooth Mesh, a smoke sensor. The startup is also the inventor of USB Converter, a network converting and expansion tool.

Its Bluetooth Mesh sensor can discover smoke and promptly send warnings to smartphones via telecommunication wave Bluetooth Mesh. The sensor can be installed and relocated conveniently, and there is no need to destroy walls or intervene in infrastructure.

Operating in a smarthome ecosystem, the data from the smoke warning sensor can activate a smart fire prevention system, including tuning on a pump, opening electricity valves, opening curtains, ringing alarms, and sending warnings to smartphones of family members, or to neighboring households.

The special feature of the Vconnex smoke sensor is that the device uses photoelectric waves to detect smoke. The advantage of this technology is that it can discover fires early. The device can operate well in strong winds with limited false alarms. And since it does not contain radiation, it is safe for users.

According to Vconnex, as soon as the sensor discovers smoke, it will set up an urgent warning regime and report to users via smartphones. Smartphones will vibrate and ring, and display the warning interface.

The sensor will also send alarms to neighbors if family members and neighbors join groups. This can help to more quickly confirm false fire alarms via the smartphone or how tge fire got started.

As for USB Converter, this is a support device helping connect and use Bluetooh Mesh Vconnect sensors without a central controller. This will set up automatic scenarios for Bluetooth Mesh sensors and other smarthome devices of the same ecosystem.

The USB Converter also supports the expansion of the operating sphere of Bluetooth Mesh network, enhancing the network signal to devices far away.

The majority of fires are caused by irresponsible use of electricity such as charging batteries overnight, forgetting to turn off electrical equipment, and consuming high-capacity electrical equipment for a long time. To prevent incidents, mini apartments and households can use smart IoT devices.

Fire and explosion prevention solutions using IoT devices are now popular in Vietnam. However, the systems are costly.
