VietNamNet Bridge - Huynh Kesley previously received up to $300,000 for a year of service, but this only makes half that price, the Brazilian-native player is still having difficulty finding a place in the V-League.

As the best striker, Huynh Kesley still finds it’s hard to find
a good job at the V-League.

Huynh Kesley joined Binh Duong in 2005. In the first season playing in the V-League, the Brazilian strikers scored 21 goals, becoming the "scorer."

In 2009, Kesley was granted Vietnamese citizenship and was named Huynh Kesley. With the Vietnamese nationality, the transfer price of Huynh Kesley soared.

In 2011, this striker joined Saigon Xuan Thanh FC with a pay of $300,000 a year, plus $20,000 monthly salary. With his talent and the label "domestic player," Huynh Kesley was one of the most sought-after strikers in the V-League.

Helping Saigon Xuan Thanh FC win the National Cup and the runner-up of V-League 2012, the representative of Huynh Kesley said that he is the best striker of the national championship. Along with this review, the pay for a year of service is offered at $400,000, plus $20,000 salary per month. However, the offer is considered to be too expensive at this moment.

Even the rich FC of Saigon Xuan Thanh could not accept the offer. Desperately, the Brazilian-origin star lowered the price to $200,000 a year but the offer was not accepted by any FC. It is rumored that Binh Duong has accepted to recruit Huynh Kesley at the pay of $150,000/year but both sides are yet to confirm the information.

To date, a total of 18 foreign players have had Vietnamese citizenship. Becoming local players, earning a lofty bonus and salary, but most of them have declined in their performance. Some of them, because of their poor performance, have become a burden for their teams. Le Tostao was fired by Thanh Hoa FC. Joining Saigon Xuan Thanh, he was still paid more than $10,000 per month. His income is not commensurate with his contribution to the team, making many colleagues jealous. After the 2012 football season, Saigon Xuan Thanh fired Le Tostao.

Besides Le Tostao, Nguyen Rogers was also fired by Thanh Hoa FC. The remaining foreign-origin players if they want to sign a new contract, most of them have to accept the reduction of bonus and salary. However, Le Hoang Phat Thiery (Song Lam Nghe An), Ding Hoang Max (Dong Thap), Dang Van Lam (Hoang Anh Gia Lai) are also difficult to renew their contracts.

Not only naturalized players, foreign players in V-League are also "big discounts." Timothy has been a famous striker at V-League for a few years, who played for Dong Thap, Hoa Phat Hanoi and Hanoi FC. When the V-League 2012 was about to end, Ninh Binh FC invited him to join the team. Ninh Binh’s invitation was so attractive that Timothy rejected any proposal from other teams. But after a long time of waiting, Ninh Binh has had no next move.

Timothy is still at home and not any team has invited him back to Vietnam. Timothy's representative informed that he was willing to reduce the transfer fee to soon return to Vietnam.

Gaston Merlo, who was many times the "scorer" of V-League, finds it very difficult to find work after getting a severe injury in the V-League 2012.

Partly due to quality deterioration, and others, according to expert Nguyen Van Vinh; it is hard for foreign players to find a job because V-League is now out of the race. Vietnamese football teams are facing financial difficulties and they do not have money to purchase new players.
