During the meeting, held in conjunction with the upcoming Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day on October 13, Prime Minister Chinh directed relevant ministries and agencies to compile, research, and incorporate the feedback received into a formal conclusion of the meeting to promptly address the concerns raised by businesses and entrepreneurs.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the vital role and importance of the business community in the nation's renovation and development, particularly during the economic transition, highlighting the remarkable growth and contributions of Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs.

Specifically, the Vietnamese business community has experienced robust development, with the number of newly established businesses continually increasing. Over the past 20 years (2004-2023), more than 1.88 million new companies have been registered, with the number of new businesses in 2023 rising approximately 4.3 times compared to 2004. In the first eight months of 2024 alone, over 110,000 new businesses were established, marking a 4.4% increase from the same period in 2023.

Businesses and entrepreneurs are present across nearly all sectors, not only within the domestic market but also making a mark on the international stage. Notable enterprises include Viettel, PVN, Vingroup, FPT, Thaco, Hoa Phat, TH, Vinamilk, and Masan, which play significant roles in leading and pioneering development.

Many businesses have become leaders in technology, innovation, and brand establishment, creating ecosystems for small and medium-sized enterprises to thrive while pioneering efforts in green transformation and digitalization.

In celebration of Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day on October 13, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged the government and local authorities to focus on six key tasks and solutions to support businesses.

1. Creating a Transparent Business Environment: Foster a favorable and equitable business climate, particularly by building a socialist-oriented market economy that encourages fair competition among economic sectors.

2. Developing Comprehensive Infrastructure: Invest in modern and synchronous infrastructure to reduce logistics costs, lower input costs, and enhance product competitiveness.

3. Training High-Quality Human Resources: Focus on developing skilled labor for the nation and businesses.

4. Improving Corporate Governance Models: Modernize governance structures to mobilize all resources for development.

5. Protecting Business Interests: Safeguard the legal and legitimate rights of businesses and entrepreneurs, avoiding the criminalization of economic and civil relationships.

6. Building a Capable Entrepreneurial Workforce: Cultivate a professional and capable team of entrepreneurs and businesses.

The Prime Minister emphasized the spirit of creating a transparent system, efficient infrastructure, and intelligent governance to facilitate business growth. He called on the government, ministries, and local authorities to speak less and act more, ensuring commitments translate into concrete, measurable results.

Additionally, he encouraged businesses and entrepreneurs to take the lead in five areas: advancing strategic breakthroughs in institutional reform, infrastructure, and human resources; promoting scientific research and innovation; contributing to macroeconomic stability and inflation control while prioritizing growth; enhancing modern corporate governance to improve national management capacity; and strengthening national solidarity while enhancing social welfare.

With the spirit of “harmonizing interests and sharing risks,” the Prime Minister urged all parties to listen, understand, share visions and actions, and work together for mutual growth and happiness.

The government leader expressed his confidence that Vietnamese entrepreneurs and businesses will continue to lead in the national socio-economic development for the benefit of the country and its people.
