Update news private economic sector
The ViPEL model brings together Vietnam’s largest and most representative private enterprises. Its objective is to harness the collective power of the private sector to make it the key driving force of the national economy.
The Vietnam Private Economic Landscape (ViPEL) model was launched in Hanoi on September 11, aiming to elevate the private sector into the country’s most powerful driver of development.
Recently, a company director in Ha Tinh was prosecuted for tax evasion involving VND170 million. The director had used a personal bank account to receive customer payments but had not issued invoices or declared revenue.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on August 4 laid out 15 groups of concrete tasks and solutions to realise the Politburo’s Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic development.
By April 2025, outstanding loans provided to the private economic sector had accounted for 93 percent of total loans, or VND15.3 trillion. As many as 209,000 private enterprises had accessed bank loans.
Resolution 68 is expected to help dismantle constraints on both the institutional regime and the prevalent mindset, creating a new environment for private enterprises to thrive.
