Article 7, the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard 2018 stipulates 06 groups of prohibited acts, serving as a basis for ensuring operations of the Coast Guard; in line with regulations on the principles of organization and operation of the Coast Guard, including:
- Oppose or obstruct operations of the Vietnam Coast Guard; take revenge, threaten, infringe upon the life, health, honor and dignity of the officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard in the performance of their duties or for public reasons;
- Bribe or force officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard to act against their duties or powers;
- Disguise as officers and soldiers of Vietnam Coast Guard; forge ships and means of transport of the Vietnam Coast Guard; forge, buy, sell or use illegally costumes, seals and papers of the Vietnam Coast Guard;
- Take advantage of, abuse positions, powers and working positions of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard to violate the law; infringes upon legitimate rights and interests of agencies, organizations or individuals;
- Officers and soldiers of the Vietnam Coast Guard who harass and cause difficulties to agencies, organizations and individuals lawfully operating at sea;
- Other acts in violation of the provisions of the Law on Vietnam Coast Guard 2018.

It can be seen that the above prohibited acts are directly related to the operations of the Coast Guard. Clearly defining these groups of prohibited acts for organizations, individuals, and officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard is essential to ensure that the Vietnam Coast Guard properly and fully performs its functions and missions. At the same time, these regulations are consistent with a number of defense and security laws.
