Recently, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province Ho Tien Thieu chaired a meeting with Mr. Lin Xiao, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Chongzuo City Party Committee, Guangxi (China).

At the talks, the two sides concretized the agreements signed at the 2023 Spring Meeting Program and the 14th Joint Working Committee Conference as well as a number of exchanges and common perceptions reached between Secretary of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Quoc Doan and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Liu Ning in talks on March 30.

The two sides jointly researched solutions and specific orientations to promote the construction of the Huu Nghi (Vietnam) - Youyi Guan (China) international tourism cooperation area; the operation of Tan Thanh (Vietnam) – Pochai (China) tourism cooperation; developing unique forms, high-quality products, and convenient cross-border tourism; strengthening coordination and promptly removing difficulties and obstacles to continue effectively implementing the Cross-border Labor Management Cooperation Agreement.

They also agreed to put the specialized cargo transport route in the 1088-1089 area into official operation and become a customs clearance route of the Huu Nghi (Vietnam) - Youyi Guan (China) international border gate before June 1, 2023; promote the upgrading and official opening of the bilateral border gate of Binh Nghi (Vietnam) - Ping’er Guan (China); submit to the Governments of both sides to approve the official working time at the bilateral border gate of Chi Ma (Vietnam) – Ai Dian (China); research and promote upgrading the Chi Ma- Ai Dian bilateral border gate into an international border gate;

Urgently consider restoring customs clearance activities at a number of pairs of secondary border gates between the two sides; submit to competent authorities of both sides for approval of the investment policy to exploit and promote the role of the Dong Dang (Vietnam) – Pingxiang (China) international railway border gate in export and import activities between the two sides and increase the proportion of agricultural products transported via rail.

At the same time, the two localities agreed to promote economic and trade cooperation and facilitate customs clearance; accelerate the construction of traffic connections and infrastructure, strengthen connection and construction of highways in border areas and highways connecting border gates; strengthen cooperation and modernize border management, prevent and combat cross-border crimes...

Mr. Lin Xiao hoped that Lang Son province, along with Guangxi province in general and Chongzuo city in particular, will promote and propose solutions to increase trade between the two sides on both roads and railways; consider and cooperate in reopening customs clearance activities at border gates (sub-border gates); continue to invest in upgrading border gates such as Binh Nghi - Ping’er Guan, promoting the development of border tourism cooperation...

At the talks, leaders of the People's Committee of Lang Son province and leaders of Chongzuo city basically agreed that the two sides would continue to strengthen closer, more effective and more substantive cooperation, especially going deeper into economic and trade fields, e-commerce, traffic connection of inter-regional highways to border gates, infrastructure development, expansion of import and export routes of goods, logistics services, dry ports, digital and border gates and upgrading and reopening pairs of border gates and border crossings.
