VietNamNet Bridge – Former Party Secretary of Ninh Thuan Province – Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung has been appointed the 7th Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, under a decision signed on January 25 by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Dung, 54, a native of Ha Tinh, is a member of the Party Central Committee. He has a doctor degree of economics. Before becoming Deputy Party Secretary of Ninh Thuan Province in 2009 (he was elected as Party Secretary of Ninh Thuan a year later), he served as Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment.

Previously, he assumed various positions at this Ministry, including Deputy Director of the Overseas Project Management Department, Deputy Chief of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department and Head of the Trade and Services Department.

With this appointment decision, the Ministry of Planning and Investment currently has seven deputy ministers, including Mr. Cao Viet Sinh, Mr. Dang Huy Dong, Mr. Nguyen The Phuong, Mr. Dao Quang Thu, Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu and Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung.
