The place where the pupil commits suicide

The pupils were third graders at Na Ngoi 1 Nursery and Primary School in Ky Son District’s Xa Ngoi Commune.

Local people found the pupils together eating poisonous Gelsemium leaves in an attempt to commit suicide on September 6. The locals took them to a nearby medical station for first aid.

However, one of the children died after just 30 minutes, while the two others escaped critical condition.

According to Mua Dua Thai, Chairman of Na Ngoi Commune, on September 4, teachers at the school’s nursery class found some toys to be lost. When the teachers asked who took the toys and the three pupils admitted to stealing them.

On the way to come back home yesterday, the pupils were afraid of being punished by their parents, so they came to the forest to kill themselves, Thai added.

Nguyen Thanh Hoang, Chairman of Ky Son District People’s Committee, said that local authorities are investigating the case.
