VietNamNet Bridge –An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale hit the East Sea early this morning.

The quake, which occurred 300km off the Phu Yen Province coast, caused neither casualties nor any damage.

According to the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre, while the quake had been strong, it was not capable of causing a tsunami, the quake centre being situated in deep seas far from coastal areas.

At present, the Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre is continuing its quake vigil of the East Sea.
