Vice President of the HCM Football Federation (HFF) Ngo Le Bang said the pitches are under construction and after finished they will meet international standards and could serve increasing demand from local clubs and the federation’s young players.

Bang said these venues could also serve national squads when they train in the city.

The news was welcomed by football trainer Julien Negri, the HFF technical director.

He said it was difficult to train on many pitches in the city. He would bring all young players of the HCM City-Lyon Football Academy to practice on the new fields when they are complete.

The new fields are in Phu Tho Sports Complex in District 11.

Currently, Thong Nhat is the city’s only stadium that can host teams for training and competition.
