Particularly, four Wi-Fi generating stations will be built at Ngang Pass in the province’s Quang Trach District, Sen Thuy Commune in Le Thuy District, Hai Ninh Commune in Quang Ninh District, and Da Nhay Beach in Bo Trach District.
The stations are expected to meet the communications needs of border guards and military forces located in these areas, who put up in the waters or near the ocean’s edge. The installation will be done by the military locomotive business, Viettel.
Other targeted areas for free Wi-Fi coverage include Bao Ninh Square, Mother Suot Statue, Tam Toa Church relic and the parking lot at General Giap memorial site, as well as Phong Nha Cave’s boat station, Hoang Phuc Pagoda, Lieu Hanh Princess Temple, Canh Duong mural village and Quang Binh gate relic.
According to the local Department of Information and Communications, the Wi-Fi has a speed of 60Mbps and covers a 150m-wide radius. The coverage is strong enough to be used by 350 users at the same time.
The department will supervise the installation, which is scheduled for the last months of the year by Viettel.
It said the free Wi-Fi coverage would foster the development of tourism and trade in the province, thanks to quick access to information of sites, agencies and trade perspectives in the province.
The Wi-Fi stations designated for services to coastal and island areas would be the most focused ones in order to ensure the smooth flow of information during bad weather conditions and natural disasters, which is said to have defence significance.
