Vietnam’s midfield maestro Nguyen Quang Hai

Quang Hai has greatly contributed to Hanoi FC’s fantastic season in which they won both the V.League and the National Cup domestically, whilst also enjoying a long run in the AFC Cup.

His international teammate Doan Van Hau is the recipient of the best young player award, despite going on loan to SC Heerenveen in the Netherlands for the latter part of the season.

Defender Van Hau was chosen over Vietnam’s U22 footballers Duc Chien and Hoang Duc to win the title following his good performances early in the V.League season.

Chung Hae-seong of the Republic of Korea has been named the nation’s best coach. The award comes after Ho Chi Minh City FC leapt up the V.League to finish in second.

Hanoi FC’s Pape Omar and Viettel FC’s Bruno Cunha were the V.League’s joint top goal scorers with 15 goals each during the campaign.

The competition’s best goal went to midfielder Nghiem Xuan Tu of Quang Ninh FC after his strike against Saigon FC in the 14th round.

Elsewhere, HAGL FC were named as the league’s most stylish club, with Binh Duong FC being selected for best organisation, whilst HCM City FC’s Thong Nhat Stadium was named the country’s best ground.

Hoang Ngoc Ha was voted as the league’s best referee, followed by Ngo Duy Lan and Nguyen Dinh Thai, respectively. VOV
