The Tam Thanh community art village in Quang Nam province

On the occasion, a record was set for Vietnam’s first and largest collection of coracles at Tam Thanh village.

The Ky Anh tunnel was built in Tam Ky city of the province during the country’s resistance war against the US. Construction of the 32km tunnel began in 1965 and finished two years later. The tunnel is between 0.5 – 0.8m wide and 0.8 – 1m high. It was recognised as a national historical relic site in 1997.

Local authorities have mobilised resources to repair collapsed sections in the relic, contributing to tourism development in south Quang Nam province.

The same day, Tam Thanh community art village in Tam Ky city has started to welcome visitors.

As many as 111 painted coracles are on display along the road running along the beach in Tam Thanh commune. There are five art installations of coracles which represent local culture and values.

Besides, Tam Ky city has set up a home-stay community, with the participation of 10 households, along with sightseeing tours on Truong Giang river.
