VietNamNet Bridge - The cannabis farm of a peasant in Trung Luong village in Tam Ky Tay commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province has been destroyed by the Nui Thanh district police forces on March 19.

The Nui Thanh district police said that they detected the marijuana farm thanks to local people’s report. The anti-drug police suddenly inspected the farm, which is located on a mount, owned by a local man, named Phan Khac Trinh.
The police discovered more than 330 marijuana trees that were grown and mixed with other trees in the farm. The trees are about 20-30cm tall and they were cultivated for more than two months.
The farm’s owner said he did not know about the cultivation of marijuana in his farm. He said the farm was taken care of by his hired workers and perhaps the trees were planted by them. However, the workers were not present at the farm at that time and their identity have not been clarified yet.
The police are investigating the case to identify the grower.
Last June, Tam Ky’s police also arrested a man who grew cannabis at home for use.
