Over 4,000 artifacts discovered in historic shipwrecks that took place in Vietnamese waters have gone on display at the centre of cultural heritage in the central province of Quang Ngai on June 19.
The exhibition is being held as part of an international workshop on the heritage value of Ly Son-Sa Huynh Geopark.
On display in the exhibition are treasures that have been discovered in shipwrecks from places such as Quang Nam and Ca Mau provinces.
Pottery artifacts including vases, bowls, plates, and jars were found in Quang Nam province’s Cu Lao Cham waters.
Parts of a vessel that was lost in a shipwreck in Cu Lao Cham waters are also being showcased.
Some of the pottery pieces on display date back to the 15th century.
Some of the pieces exhibited were found in Hon Cau in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. They originate from the 17th century.
The objects which were discovered in Hon Cau and Ha Tien date back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
Pottery bowls originating from China were discovered in Binh Dinh province.
Over 400 artifacts in the exhibition are from shipwrecks that took place in Kien Giang province and date back to the 15th century.
