High water on the rivers of Tra Khuc, Ve and Tra Bong has flooded thousands of houses in the districts of Son Tinh, Binh Son and Nghia Hanh.
To protect the lives and assets of local residents, local governments moved over 4000 households along rivers to higher places.
“It was sunny yesterday so I thought rain had stopped but since last night, flood has flowed. My house is flooded to the roof. We had to run away from the flood last night,” said Pham Van Khoi in Binh Son district.

According to the Quang Ngai Province Committee for Flood and Storm Control, Binh Son District was the worst hit region.
Nearly 3,000 houses in the district were flooded. Flood waters pulled down 19 houses, damaged schools, rice fields and cereal crops, and swept away animals and poultry.
