The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued an urgent warning due to the storm's proximity and intensity, with wind speeds reaching up to 201 kilometers per hour and gusts surpassing Category 17.

As of 10 AM, Typhoon Yagi was located near Hainan Island, moving westward at a speed of 15-20 kilometers per hour. Its path is expected to bring it closer to the mainland by the evening, positioning it merely 350 kilometers away from Quang Ninh.

The forecast indicates that by the morning of September 7, Yagi will potentially impact the coastal areas between Quang Ninh and Nam Dinh provinces. At this point, it might weaken slightly but will still sustain strong winds ranging from Category 12 to 13, with gusts up to Category 15.

- The northwestern region of the East Sea is witnessing winds between Category 11 to 14, intensifying near the typhoon’s center.

- By the evening of September 6, the Gulf of Tonkin is expected to experience significant sea disturbances with wave heights reaching 3 to 5 meters and increasing as the storm approaches.

- Coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa are advised to prepare for rapidly strengthening winds by the night of September 6, reaching up to Category 9 or higher near the storm center.

- Heavy rains are anticipated across the northern regions, with accumulations potentially exceeding 500 millimeters, particularly in the northeastern areas.

Authorities have issued warnings for strong winds, high waves, and potential storm surges along the coast. Residents in vulnerable areas, especially fishermen and those in low-lying regions, are urged to finalize preparations, secure properties, and follow evacuation orders where issued.

Local governments are coordinating with emergency services to ensure readiness for immediate responses, including potential search and rescue operations. Residents are advised to stay informed through official channels and adhere to safety guidelines issued by local disaster management authorities.
