The organising board of the Clipper Race arrived at the Ha Long International Cruise Port on March 30 and March 31 as they start to prepare for the race in early 2024.
A ship from Ha Long Bay joined the Clipper Round the World Race in 2019 and ultimately came in third position.
The hosting of the race to helped foster the tourism promotion of UNESCO-recognised world heritage site of Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh province, according to local authorities.
Clipper Race has been held for more than 20 years. The around-the-world race, stopping in several huge ports, lasts for one year and involves the participation of about 70 clippers.
The next edition of the 40,000 nautical mile race will be the Clipper Race 2023-2024 and will begin in late summer this year.
