The central province of Quang Tri has about 230 species of medicinal plants, of which 40 species have been researched, developed, and processed to serve local consumption and exports, such as ba kich tim (purple Morinda officianalis), cinnamon, ca gai leo (Solanum procumbens), lan kim tuyen (Anoectochilus sp.) and particularly che vang (Jasminum subtriplinerve).

Located at the foot of the Truong Son range, Quang Tri has 7 districts that priotize the implementation of the program to develop trade in mountainous, remote and island areas for the period 2021 – 2025, namely Dakrong, Huong Hoa, Vinh Linh, Con Co, Gio Linh, Hai Lang and Trieu Phong.

Quang Tri Jasminum subtriplinerve is associated with the name of the sacred land "La Vang". Since ancient times, La Vang was a remote area with many Jasminum subtriplinerve trees, which has been used as medicine by local people for a long time.

Jasminum subtriplinerve plant is evaluated and proven to be a good medicinal herb through clinical tests that nature has given to Quang Tri. Jasminum subtriplinerve not only has health protection benefits such as helping to clear heat, detoxify, cool the liver, but also has high economic efficiency.

As one of the typical typical products of Quang Tri province, Jasminum subtriplinerve has been granted with geographical indication certification.

Quang Tri Jasminum subtriplinerve is processed into 3 products, including: dried Jasminum subtriplinerve, Jasminum subtriplinerve extract and instant Jasminum subtriplinerve powder.

Dried Jasminum subtriplinerve has a slightly pungent smell, and when mixed with water, it has a light yellow color. Jasminum subtriplinerve extract is black, when mixed with water it will be brown, fragrant, slightly pungent, bitter and sweet. Instant Jasminum subtriplinerve powder has a slightly pungent aroma, bitter taste, and sweet aftertaste.

To produce Jasminum subtriplinerve products, workers use leaves and branches of Jasminum subtriplinerve trees. During the harvesting process, workers only collect medium leaves and old leaves, not young one. Harvest time is from April to August to avoid the rainy season.

The tea leaves are first washed and chopped. Then, for dried Jasminum subtriplinerve, the ingredients will be dried until the moisture content is less than or equal to 12%. For intant product, the ingredients will be put into a microwave vacuum system for extraction, concentration, and drying. For Jasminum subtriplinerve extract, the ingredients will be cooked with water at a ratio of about 2 liters of water/1 kg of ingredients, removing the residue and concentrating the solution at a temperature of 80-100 degrees Celsius, then mold or cut into pieces.

In January 2023, the National Office of Intellectual Property issued a Decision on granting a Geographical Indication Registration Certificate for the Jasminum subtriplinerve products of "Quang Tri". The Department of Science and Technology of Quang Tri province is the organization that manages this geographical indication.

The geographical area producing Quang Tri Jasminum subtriplinerve products includes the following communes, wards and towns: Vinh Chap, Vinh Long, Vinh Khe, Vinh Ha, Vinh Thuy, Vinh Son communes and Ben Quan town of Vinh Linh district ; Gio An, Linh Truong, Hai Thai, Linh Hai, Gio Son, Phong Binh, Trung Son and Gio Chau communes of Gio Linh district; Hai Phu, Hai Lam, Hai Son, Hai Chanh and Hai Truong communes of Hai Lang district; Cam Chinh, Cam Nghia, Cam Hieu, Cam Thuy, Cam Thanh and Cam Tuyen communes of Cam Lo district; Ward 3 in the city of Dong Ha. Quang Tri has included Jasminum subtriplinerve in the province's key crops to develop towards large-scale production associated with deep processing.

Quang Tri province currently has over 60 hectares of Jasminum subtriplinerve, including more than 50 hectares of planted trees and the remaining area is natural Jasminum subtriplinerv area, giving a total output of about 4,000 tons/year.

In Quang Tri, Jasminum subtriplinerve is grown mainly in Cam Lo district and some other localities such as Dong Ha city, Gio Linh, Vinh Linh and Hai Lang districts. Jasminum subtriplinerve is planted at a density of approximately 30,000 plants/hectare. In the first year of planting, Jasminum subtriplinerve yields about 10 tons/hectare. In the second year, it is harvested twice a year, with a yield of over 10 tons/harvest.
