Approximately 240 meters of remaining site clearance issues, involving residential land, housing, and agricultural land belonging to 39 households, represented the task Cua Viet Commune had to resolve to open the coastal road connecting the East-West Economic Corridor across the area.
On September 26, during an on-site inspection of the project and the Quang Tri Airport Project, Chair of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Bui Hoang Phuong requested local authorities to complete land clearance before October 30. From there, lingering tasks were focused on, ranging from document reviews to finalizing compensation, support, and resettlement plans.
For the coastal road project, as of October 26, households accepted and agreed to the compensation plan. According to Thong, the locality plans to approve the final round of compensation, support, and resettlement plans on the morning of October 27, striving to hand over the site ahead of the province's deadline.
The unblocking story in Cua Viet reflects the tasks Quang Tri must accelerate in the final months of the year. Every cleared land plot handed over will create conditions for projects to continue construction, turning investment capital into reality.
According to a report at the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee meeting on September 29, Quang Tri's first-nine-month GRDP was estimated to grow by 8.28 percent. Meanwhile, as of September 17, the public investment capital disbursement rate reached only 45.66 percent of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister.
To achieve the full-year GRDP growth target of 10.6 percent, the province needs to maintain momentum in advantageous sectors while removing bottlenecks dragging down projects. Site clearance progress at the airport and coastal road is thus part of the effort to unlock resources and create further growth momentum for the locality.
According to a representative from the Quang Tri Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Civil, Industrial, and Technical Infrastructure Works, as of October 20, 45.67 kilometers out of the total 48-kilometer site length of the coastal road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor had been handed over, reaching approximately 95 percent.
The completed construction and installation value reached VND828.789 billion out of a total value of VND1.61556 trillion, equivalent to 51.3 percent.
While transport projects are being accelerated, energy projects are also raising growth expectations for Quang Tri. On October 20, at the Quang Trach Power Center, EVN cooperated with the Provincial People's Committee to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Quang Trach II LNG Thermal Power Plant and announced the commercial power generation of Quang Trach I onto the national grid.
Along with wind power projects in Khe Sanh, the works in Quang Trach are concreteizing the province's energy industry development orientation. From coastal roads to power plants, the overarching requirement remains removing each bottleneck so projects can be deployed and contribute to growth.
From unblocking land clearance in Cua Viet to committing companionship with power projects in Quang Trach, the requirement set forth is that every task must have a designated responsible person and a completion deadline. This is also what Quang Tri is concentrating on to promote investment in the remaining months of the year.
On October 21, Provincial People's Committee Chair Bui Hoang Phuong signed Official Dispatch No. 5214, directing leaders of departments, sectors, agencies, localities, project developers, and project management boards to identify implementation progress and public investment disbursement as a key political task for the remaining months of 2026.
The document states that project developers who fail to disburse all assigned capital plans - allowing funds to be canceled or lost - must take responsibility before the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee.
In Cua Viet, the commune government coordinated with mass organizations to mobilize households in the project area to agree with compensation and relocation plans. Site clearance obstacles were gradually unblocked, creating conditions to hand over sites to construction units.
According to a report at the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee meeting on September 29, state budget revenue was estimated at VND8.651 trillion; the industrial production index increased by 14.3 percent; tourist arrivals reached over 9.39 million, bringing in total revenue of approximately VND10.808 trillion. These figures serve as the foundation for the province to continue pursuing its full-year GRDP growth target of 10.6 percent.
