VietNamNet Bridge - Luong Thi Quyen pocketed a bronze medal at the Asian Wrestling Championship which closed on May 22 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

 

Quyen’s surprising success came after her 4-1 victory over Kazakhstani athlete Satymbekova in the women’s 63kg repechage match.

 

Quyen previously beat host Gavhar Mirzayeva 5-2 in the first round but then lost 8-13 in the semi-finals to Kim Ran-mi of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

 

Nguyen Thi Lua, who won a silver medal at the 16th ASIAD, failed to earn a medal after losing to Sun Yanan of China in the women’s 48kg semi-finals while Nguyen Thi Dieu Ninh lost in the women’s 55kg category.
