"The Fast and Furious" actor Paul Walker was confirmed dead in a car accident Saturday in Santa Clarita County of California.

The star of racing franchise "Fast & Furious", Paul Walker was killed in a car crash in Southern California, Nov. 30, 2013 local time, his publicist confirmed.

 

 

 

Walker was riding as one of two passengers while attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide, his team said on the actor's official Facebook.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Department confirmed Walker's death.

The two victims of the crash including Walker were inside a Porsche vehicle, which was devoured by flames.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, the police said.

Walker, at the age of 40, was widely known for starring in Universal's "The Fast and Furious", a muscle car racing movie.

"All of us at Universal are heartbroken. Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast and Furious films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family," Universal said in a statement.

Walker had been filming the next sequel of "the Fast and Furious" before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend crash. The film was scheduled for release on July 11, 2014.
