Nguyen Phuong Thanh, a 20-year-old university student born in 2005, burst into tears of joy as she was crowned Miss Peaceful Vietnam Student 2025, triumphing over a field of strong contestants.

The newly crowned queen hails from Phu Tho. She stands 1.68 meters tall, weighs 52 kilograms, and has measurements of 83-63-91 cm. Thanh is currently in her third year at Dai Nam University in Ha Dong, Hanoi, majoring in Chinese language.

During the Q&A round, Thanh impressed the judges with her poise and conviction when asked, "What is the most important value that Vietnamese students should preserve when entering an international environment?"

Taking the stage with confidence, she responded that in recent years, more Vietnamese students have chosen to study abroad. In such environments, the foremost priority, she said, should be maintaining national unity and cultural identity.

To Thanh, identity doesn’t isolate us - it empowers us to stand firm and navigate confidently in international settings.

In addition to the crown, she received a cash prize of 500 million VND (approximately 20,500 USD) and a scholarship opportunity in the United States.

Thanh had previously competed in her university’s beauty contest, where she made it into the Top 10. At school, she has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to faculty-wide student union activities during the 2024–2025 academic year.

She entered the competition with a desire to challenge herself, promote the image of vibrant, confident, and compassionate Vietnamese students, and to learn and grow through the experience.

Thanh expressed her hope that the pageant would allow her to not only absorb valuable lessons but also inspire those around her and contribute meaningfully to the mission of peace-building.

Following her win, Thanh shared her intention to use her prize money to further develop a charitable initiative she had previously started, titled “School Aid Station.”

The Top 5 of Miss Peaceful Vietnam Student 2025 included Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Nguyen Kim Chau, Mai Ngoc Anh Thu, and Tran Thu Huyen, who were awarded the four runner-up titles in order of rank. Each runner-up received a cash prize, a certificate, a crown, and a scholarship package for overseas study.

This year’s Miss Peaceful Vietnam Student was a large-scale national event featuring a cohort of young, educated women. Contestants spent nearly a month together in a shared home in Da Nang City, participating in a variety of training sessions, community service programs, memorial tributes, cultural photography campaigns, and tourism promotion activities.

Themed “Vietnamese students writing the next chapter of peace,” the pageant aimed to discover a winner who exemplifies not only beauty and intelligence but also courage and compassion.
