The Viet Nam Railway Corporation (VNRC) yesterday announced additional rail trips on some routes to handle the surging passenger traffic during the national holidays on April 30 and May 1.

Eighty-four additional rail trips will be operated on the Ha Noi–HCM City route, while six additional trips will be made on other routes.

Sai Gon Railway, a branch company of VNRC, will organise more trips between Sai Gon (HCM City) and Quy Nhon, Nha Trang and Phan Thiet.

Meanwhile, the Ha Noi Railway will run more rail trips from Ha Noi to Da Nang, Dong Hoi and Vinh.

Tickets for hard seats are available at 20 per cent discount on five train routes during the holiday. These routes are between Ha Noi and Sai Gon, Da Nang and Vinh, and from Hue and Quy Nhon to Sai Gon.

The promotion period is from March 24 to April 20, and from May 5 to May 20.
