On June 17th, when searching for termite mushrooms in a rubber plantation, Ngô Quốc Đạt, a resident in Bình Phước Province discovered an unfamiliar bird on the ground.
Having never seen this species of bird before, he researched on social media and realised that it was a Burmese Peacock-Pheasant belonging to Group IIB, a critically endangered and rare group in need of conservation.

Đạt contacted the Forest Protection Department of Đồng Phú District and completed the necessary procedures to hand over the bird.
The Department will nurture and take care of it for a period of time.
Once the health of the Burmese Peacock-Pheasant is stable, the relevant authorities will carry out procedures to release the bird back into the natural environment in accordance with regulations. — VNS
