
The discovery was published on the Comptes Rendus Biologies journal.
The species is named Thien Duong in Vietnamese and Vietbocap thienduongensis Lourenco & Pham in scientific name.
In 2010, Dr. Sac and another scientist discovered another species of scorpion at the Tien Son Grotto, also in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang national park, which is named Vietbocap canhi Lourenco & Pham.
According to Dr. Sac, the two scorpion species belong to the Pseudochactidae family, which is listed as rare animals.
So far, only four species of Pseudochactidae family have been discovered in the world, including one in Laos, one in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan and two in Vietnam.
