More than 90 designs and many accessories created by Thanh Hoa, Hien Le, An Nhien, Hong Vuong, Van Khoa and Bich Ha are on sale at the Viet Nam Designers House on Hai Ba Trung Street.

Owned by Viet Mode, one of the city's prestigious companies in fashion and garment, the Viet Nam Designers House displays latest collections by skilled designers.

Designer Hoa's ensemble of 15 women's garments reflect a global style – simple and comfortable. "The new look is based on very old things," said Hoa.

He has used vivid colours like lotus pink and lemon yellow to make his cocktail dresses, both short and long, and ladies who wear them are sure to light up the night.

Le, on the other hand, uses black and white in her designs for both men and women.

Her unisex shirts, many of which use lace – one of the popular materials used by international designers this season - marks the entry of a luxurious, elegant new trend in the market.

Nhien has chosen dark shades of grey and cream for her blazers and tuxedos, while her colleagues, Vuong, Khoa and Ha use warmer tones like pink, violet and red.

Although all three designers use traditional materials like silk, satin and chiffon, their clothes offer a more avant-garde style.

The dresses are not cheap, but prices at the Viet Nam Designers House – VND500,000 to over VND1.5 million (US$23-70) – do not seem to be a deterrent to its customers who are happy with what's on offer.

"I see that this season their designs are no longer couture style," said Nguyen Thi Van Giang, a regular patron of the Viet Nam Designers House. "I like them."
