Hang Da Galleria is hosting an eleven-day art display and sale event on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

The event, titled ‘Tet Art’, lasts from February 5 to 15. It presents 350 paintings, statues and other artworks by 88 Vietnamese artists for sale. The artworks are priced between VND550,000 ($26) and VND20 million ($940).

According to the organisers, Tet Art was inspired by the Vietnamese people’s tradition to buy artworks to display in their home each Lunar New Year. “This tradition is gradually disappearing and we want to bring it back,” said Real Art’s representative Doan Phuong Lien.

With the aim to bring art closer to the general public, Tet Art also includes daily guided tours, talks with artists, film screening and workshops in which participants can create art themselves.

In addition, buyers are enrolled in a raffle where they may have a chance to receive five artworks worth up to $1,000.

The activities within Tet Art are free to join. Details can be found on website www.tetart.org

Real Art, founded by painter Trinh Minh Tien, aims to connect Vietnamese artists with the public.

Hang Da Galleria Shopping Center, located at Cua Dong Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, features high-end fashion brands and stores of locally made clothes, accessories, potteries and art products.
